The Mirman School for Gifted Children opened its doors to educate gifted children in 1962. Motivated by a deep conviction that a dedicated and specialized curriculum and school environment are required to best educate gifted children, Dr. and Mrs. Norman J. Mirman began the school with nine pioneering students in their West Los Angeles home. Today the school enjoys a beautiful five-acre campus on Los Angeles' Mulholland drive. The School distinguishes itself as one of the few schools in the country devoted to the education of highly gifted children, serving 330 highly gifted students, ages 5-14, from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The educational program of Mirman School incorporates cutting-edge teaching methodologies that meet the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of highly gifted learners. Mirman School's 21st century curriculum includes technologically integrated academic studies in English, sciences, fine arts, music, theatre, world languages, world studies, ethical awareness, and ecoliteracy. Athletics and physical education support the intellectual development of all students. The program provides individual nurture for each student to achieve his or her full potential in an intimate setting.
