Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offers diverse programs designed to meet the needs of academically talented and gifted middle school and high school students from around the world. Our programs are available online and in-person, during the summer and academic year, and feature broad exploration or intense study in a single subject. Stanford Pre-Collegiate students are intellectually adventurous, highly motivated, and passionate in their desire to come together and deepen their learning. With participation from every state and over 60 countries, our programs draw from the best and the brightest around the world.
•Stanford Online High School, an accredited independent school for students in grades 7–12, creates a worldwide learning community of diverse, intellectually passionate students and teachers. Through vibrant, synchronous, online seminars, the rigorous curriculum challenge students to reason analytically, think creatively and argue persuasively. Beyond the classroom, collaborative extra-curricular activities cultivate lasting relationships. The School’s supportive environment fosters independence, strength of character and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge;
•Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes, where middle school and high school students discover, explore, and study their favorite subjects under the guidance of expert instructors in a setting with peers from around the world who share their talents and interests;
•Stanford Summer Humanities Institute, a three-week residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors, that explores the big questions at the heart of the humanities in seminars led by distinguished Stanford professors.
•Stanford Summer Arts Institute, is a three-week intensive interdisciplinary arts program for high school students that offers academically rigorous, hands-on courses in art, visual design, and music.
•Stanford AI4ALL, formerly SAILORS, invites young women in grade 9 to learn about the exciting field of AI. Working with the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, students attend lectures and pursue guided research in an effort to increase the number of women in science.
•Stanford University Mathematics Camp [SUMaC], welcomes an elite group of talented rising high school juniors and seniors from around the work for intensive study in advanced mathematics.
•Stanford Pre-Collegiate University-Level Online Math & Physics, offers various courses for accelerated high school students and earn Stanford University Continuing Studies credit. Our online courses allow students to work through challenging material at their own pace during a term. Students have access to instructor support during live, real-time office hours.
